The home was always intended to sit on the land in a way that blended into the natural environment and honored the natural setting. We chose organic shou sugiban for the siding and warm Douglas Fir details for contrast. We wanted to bring the outside in with a neutral palette of natural hues, soft textures and sprawling comfort. Each room reveals the enchantment of mountainous view beyond.

Summit View Drive is an apropos name for the road on which our mountain modern home resides. From the moment the owners discovered the hidden drive, they knew it was a unique opportunity to bathe in the dreamy foothills of Mount Mansfield, Vermont.
